Platform lace-up ankle boots — particularly from Demonia — are the most consistently popular choice. They combine a practical 4–7cm platform with gothic styling: thick soles, lace-up fronts, D-ring hardware, and chunky silhouettes that work across multiple alternative subcultures.

Most alternative boots are not waterproof. Faux leather uppers offer some water resistance, but seams and hardware can let in moisture in heavy rain. Apply a waterproof spray to extend resistance, and avoid prolonged exposure to wet conditions.

Wipe down regularly with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Apply a PU-safe conditioner every few months to prevent cracking. Store with boot shapers inside the shaft to maintain shape, and keep away from direct heat sources.

Heel heights range from flat or kitten heel (2–3cm) through mid-heel (5–7cm) to high heel (8–12cm), with platform heights adding additional visual elevation. Each product page specifies the exact heel and platform height.

Most styles are available in EU 36–42. Some brands — particularly Demonia and New Rock — extend to EU 44 or beyond. Wide-fit options are available in selected styles. Always check the size chart on the product page, as sizing can vary between brands.
